Rosie Bakes It

I have been baking since I was a child, so that would be at least 20 years now. I was self taught from a small selection of my mother's cookery books, mostly “Good Housekeeping” & “Mary Berry's Ultimate Cake Book”. My mother doesn't do baking, and neither do any of my other family members, so it was always my extreme love of cake that encouraged me to bake. I enjoy it mostly because I love to eat my own home baked goods, but also, because it is completely addictive. I am obsessed with finding new recipes, gaining new skills, and coming up with new flavour combinations.

I think that my “no machine mixing” method of baking means that I put love into my baking and don't overwork anything. I bake least twice a week, and in between if the little one allows me to. I don't like to bake the same thing twice, as I am trying to increase my baking repertoire all the time.

Hobbies & Interests

I am also a keen singer and songwriter. You might catch me playing my own gigs soon. I also have a nerdy side and love the odd bit of Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG's). I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and have followed the series since childhood. I frequently go to the Distant World concerts to listen to my favourite computer game music arranged for full orchestra.

Dreams & Ambitions

One of my greatest ambitions in life is to have my very own tea room, “Rosie's Tea Room”, which would be very pretty and very English. I have it all planned out in my head and I can't wait until I can actually do it.
